Recycling Centre - Muellhalde

Interesting fact:  Nyle Ludolph, native to Kitchener invented the Blue Box in the 1980's and it spread quickly throughout Canada. They renamed our local Recycling Centre to honour Nyle and twice a year they open their doors to a few hundred people to tour the facility, this time, I was fast enough and secured us a spot on the bus, yay.    It was a full hour tour and very interesting.                                          wikipedia Blue_Box_Recycling_System

Info: Nyle Ludolph, von Kitchener hat die heute noch bei uns weit verbreitete Blue Box (das gleiche wie bei euch daheim der "gelbe Sack") in den 80iger Jahren erfunden und eingeführt.  

Im Oktober 2011 ist er im 84igsten Lebensjahr verstorben und als Erinnerung and ihn wurde unser Recycling Center umbenannt.  2 x im Jahr werden die Türen und Tore geöffnet und ein paar Hundert Leute können sich alles anschauen.  Dieses Jahr war ich schnell genug und Buskarten ergattert und wir fanden das ganze voll interessant.

And here is their natural Sea Gull problem solver.  A Hawk, female, fairly young still. She comes every day during the warm weather season with her Hawk Lady and chases the Gull away :O)

Und da ist sie, der Star von der Müllhalde. Täglich kommt die Vogelfrau und bringt ihre Greifvögel um die Möwen wegzujagen, funktioniert super und komplett natürlich.
