Orchids - Orchideen

I escaped the house and spent a few hours looking at pretty flowers, Orchids in particular and learned a lot at the same time.

Ich bin dem Haus entkommen (und auch den Kindern) und hab fuer ein paar Stunden meine Augen vollkommen schoener Blumen, eigenlich nur Orchideen gewidmet. Hab sogar viel dabei gelernt.

I even won an Orchid, how great is that. The Orchid I won is to the left.

Und dann noch oben drauf, zur Kroenung des Ganzen hab ich die links Abgebildete Orchidee gewonnen - so super!

Here are a few impressions of the beautiful displays they had from all the local and surrounding Orchids Organizations (Waterloo, Niagara, Toronto, London etc).

Unten sind ein Paar Impressionen von der wunderschoenen Ausstellung von den Umliegenden Orchideen Organisationen (Waterloo, Niagara, Toronto, Lodon, etc)

I couldn't resist and had to buy two new Orchids for myself. One with Blooms and one without (the one without is a fragrant one - smells like Chocolate).

Natuerlich hab ich nicht wiederstehen koennen und hab mir gleich Zwei neue Orchideen gekauft. Eine mit Bluete und eine ohne. Die ohne wird dann, wenn sie blueht ganz super nach Schokolade riechen, mhh.

There was a big table with lots of special hanging Orchids, I really liked the look and idea but couldn't justify spending the amount of money they were asking so I made my own at home since I had one that needed splitting - the result is below :O)

Im Verkaufsraum hatten sie einen ganzen Tisch voll mit haengenden Orchideen, sie sahen wirklich super aus aber sie waren einfach zu teuer also hab ich mir daheim meine eigene haengende Orchidee gebastelt, zudem ich ja eine daheim hatte die fertig zum Teilen war - Ergebniss ist unten :O) (Hey Melanie, was sagst du, gar nicht schlecht geworden, oder?)













Below are the Orchids I currently have blooming in our house. I always get excited if I get them to bloom again. The one furthest to the right is a new one from the St. Jacobs Farmers Market, pretty interesting and really good smelling too (most of the orchids do not have any fragrant to them)

Die Blumenfotos von unten sind gerade meine bluehenden Orchideen im Haus. Ich freu mich immer wenn ich wieder eine zum Bluehen bewegen konnte. Die eine ganz Rechts hab ich mir neulich am Farmers Market gekauft, ganz interessant und riechen tut sie auch ganz gut (die meisten Orchideen haben keinen Duft)
