Indoor projects - Hausprojekte

The garden was done, so what next? I've decided to get rid of the dark blue in our guest/craft room in the basement to get the room ready for our visitors in August :D

Die Gartenprojekte waren so weit erledigt und was nun mit unserer Sommer Urlaubszeit.  Haha, also her mit der Farbe und dem blau im Gäste/Bastl Zimmer ging es an den Kragen.

GUESTROOM - GÄSTEZIMMER

 This is how it looked like when we checked out the house before we bought it.  Its a nice blue but way to dark for my taste.

Und so sah das Keller Zimmer aus wie wir uns das Haus angeschaut haben. Das blau ist schön aber viel zu dunkel für meinen Geschmack.

Tada, all done. Fresh coat of paint, trim got painted as well and the blue is still the original color.  Some stickers and a new throw cushion and voila, a bright, welcoming space for guests.  I love it!

Juhui, und jetzt ist es fertig.  Frische Farbe (musste vorher noch alle Löcher in den Wänden ausbessern) die Sesselleisten sind auch neu gestrichen, Bilder hängen wieder, ein paar lustige Aufkleber und neue Möbelstellung, voll super geworden, gefällt mir total!!!

   

I kept the blue around and in the closets, a lot less work that way and I like the blue in small doses.  

Rund um und in den Kästen hab ich das blau gelassen, mir gefällt es ja, solange es nur in kleinen Mengen ist.

MASTER BEDROOM:

Our new bed - we finally went and got the bed I wanted from Ikea :D  Nightstands are still missing, those are still the old ones.

Juhui, und ein neues Bett haben wir jetzt auch endlich.  Es ist das Folldal von Ikea, ich Leder mit dem extrem flexiblen Lattenrost.  Nachtkästchen brauchen wir noch und vielleicht irgendwann mal eine neue Bettwäsche. 

 POWDER ROOM - BADEZIMMER IM ERDGESCHOSS:

We needed more storage in our powder room for all the towels and bathing suits so out with the old and in with the new.  We went with an Ikea Vanity with Sink, a Grohe Faucet and fresh paint.
I found those cute little birds a while ago and loved the color combination, so here it goes, I transformed the bathroom to fit those colors.  The beige was already on the wall, it just needed some mudding and a fresh coat (the previous owners left the color behind - Thanks a bunch), the Trim got a fresh coat too and the back wall was painted in a new green/blue color called Aloe Essence. The total makeover came to $ 565.00 incl. everything - awesome right?

Unser kleines Badezimmer im Erdgeschoss hatte zu wenig Stauraum denn wo sollten wir denn sonst die ganzen Badetücher und Badeanzüger verstecken also raus mit dem alten und rein mit dem neuen. Ich hab vor längerem einen kleinen süßen Vogel gefunden und von dort hab ich mir dann die Farb kombination abgeguckt.  Das beige hatten wir ja schon an den Wänden, das dunkelbraun ist jetzt im Badezimmer Schrank und die blau-grüne Farbe jetzt auch an der Wand.  Zuerst musste ich noch alle Löcher zuspachteln und schreichen, dann wurden die Sesselleisten neu gestrichen, danach das beige und das grün gestrichen und Bernie hat dann ganz flott unser neues Ikea Badezimmer Kästchen und Waschbecken mit Grohe Armatur eingebaut.  Spiegel und schöne Sachen und fertig war das Badezimmer. Der Stauraum in dem Ding ist der Hammer, soooo viel platz, echt genial.

Small Living room change - Wohnzimmer:

Remember our old fireplace, oak wood, marble, brass surround.  We started a make over during the winter months by ripping it out, created a cavity for the wires, changed the brass to black (thanks to a handy coat of BBQ spray paint), Bernie added a beautiful stone to the front and after a long wait we finally had gotten our Fireplace Mantel.  A really old reclaimed barnboard mantel from a local barn somehwere.  

 

The pictures above showed how it looked shortly after we've moved in.  I didn't have the placement figured out yet, wasn't happy with it.

Oben sieht man wie unser Wohnzimmer kurz nach dem Einziehen aussah.  Alter Kamin und die Möbelstellung passte noch nicht.

Here is the new fireplace, almost complete, Bernie still need to fix the wiring at the back but otherwise its done.  

Und jetzt ist er fast fertig.  Bernie muss noch die TV Kabel ordentlich verstauen und das wars dann.

Nahaufnahme von unserem Kaminsims, er hat nur ein paar Klarlack anstriche bekommen um das natürliche Holz und sein alter zu zeigen.

This is how our Living room looks like right now.  I've added new curtains which made such a big difference, a few new pillows and I'm happy the way it looks right now. Hihi, right now, lol.

Und so sieht unser Wohnzimmer momentan aus, wie gesagt momentan, wer weiss, vielleicht fällt uns wieder was neues ein.  Aber momentan gefällt es mir, neue Vorhänge und Polster vom Ikea machten einen grossen Unterschied (keine schweren dunkelbraunen mehr). Mal sehen wie lange es so bleibt, haha.
